Lets see if they will find their niche, where they don't cannibalize LOT but still make profit. So far I can't see a clear strategy what seperates them from LOT.
Prices are very promising (4,50Euro), but as a tourist I would prefer Gdansk or Krakow instead of WAW and Katowice. The latter two are more business and ethnic related.

Wow, what a crappy name. It makes even less sense when translated into Polish, maybe that's why they don't on their website. Decent livery though.

They must be totally mad ! What´s the sense for LOT to start a LCC ? This will cost them Millions ! They are competing against WIZZ and SkyEurope. The market in Poland is full and the yield is low. There must be at least one looser. To be honest I hope it´s Centralwings at the end !

Interesting. Of all the planned routes, KRK-LGW and WAW-PRG appear to overlap with LOT. Will LOT stop flying these routes or will Centralwings and LOT fly side by side?

They forgot to put Hanover on the map...

also the odd destinations like Bologna, Malta and Sicily on saturdays only don't make a lot of sense to me

anyway, good luck to them, they'll need it.

More information is known after a press conference. The airline will operate five Boeing 737s leased from LOT and use the international terminal at WAW (unlike other low-costs which use the etiuda terminal). The airline's chairman said Centralwings would follow a similar business model to Germanwings, which he said is the only LCC formed by a major national airline to succeed. The new airline expects to become profitable in the beginning of 2007.

Does anybody know when you're going to actually be able to book flights on their website? I've been thinking of going to Krakow for a while now, and their fare from LGW is too cheap to ignore. However you can currently only get pricings and not actually book. The blurb on the booking page only says "soon" with no indication as to when.

I'll keep checking regularly till bookings can be made, but some idea of timeframe would be useful.

Thanks.

Chiguire, thanks for the info, but Skyeurope fly out of Stansted which is way over the other side of London from me. Plus, their 8:50am departure means that I'd have to stay the night in a hotel at STN if I were to make that flight. Centralwings LGW route is way more convenient for me, so I guess I'll just have to wait till we can book online!

Yeah... if they survive that long. But given the fact that it will be another government-lobbied LOT-fed establishment, they might have a chance... pesonally, I'd rather see Wizz and SkyEurope succeed.
