I know WN did have 727s in their fleet did they ever have any other aircraft type in their fleet other than 727 and 737?

Correct.. no other types than the 737s (-200, -300, -500, and -700) and the 727-200s leased from both Braniff and PEX..

The -200s will all be gone about a month from now, and depending upon what rumors/news stories you believe, we could see some -800s here (or not..)...

None of the original four 737-200s from 1971 have been around for a long while. They were all "basic" versions, with one being sold to Frontier (v1.0) to make payroll in those very early days before profits came in. The remaining three were all retired in the mid-1970s and replaced with the -200 ADV(anced) version that had several performance improvements.

Bottom line, is that all four original aircraft are undoubtedly beer cans by now...

As far as the remaining ones (seven) right now)...

N82SW delivered 4/23/82
N83SW delivered 5/28/82
N91SW delivered 12/13/82
N93SW delivered 4/7/83
N94SW delivered 5/25/83
N95SW delivered 5/25/83
N96SW delivered 6/30/83

Two more will be retired by 12/31/2004, and the last five go two weeks later in mid-January 2005.

Not that I've heard... There aren't that many -200 operators left here in the USA that don't already have their own sim, so there might not be a contract training market for the -200s. Maybe they'll break it down and sell it on eBay to someplace where greater numbers of -200s are still flying...

If memory serves, all of these aircraft had -rear- airstairs as well as the standard set forward. N20SW is the one that got sold to Frontier (v1.0)

We had a couple of the "basic" models, but they were evntually replaced as well. Some of the early aircraft numbers were also re-cycled to other, ADV aircraft.

Well, I've been surprised by this thread. Looking around, it looks like N23SW is still alive and well and flying as PP-SMW. As a matter of fact, there's a shot in the database from 4 days ago! It's always nice to find out that an older aircraft is still around.
