Flying SAS; Should I Transit Through CPH Or ARN?

In going through my flight options for a trip this summer, I have the option to fly SAS back to ORD from either CPH or ARN. I will be arriving from Bangkok.

SAS#943 flies CPH-ORD
SAS#945 lies ARN-ORD

My flight from BKK will be arriving earlier in the day to either city: SAS#972 BKK-CPH or TG#960 BKK-ARN. That leaves me the entire day to transit at either airport. Presumably at some point I'll probably end up leaving the airport to check out a bit of the city, about a half day's worth.

Which airport/city should I transit through?

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

I'd transit in CPH, more to see of the airport,there are shower facilities at a charge if you don't have lounge access and moreover it's cheaper to go to the city by train because it's closer to the city center than ARN.

Definatly CPH.
I'm not saying it because I'm danish. But like CFM-56 already said. There is more to see at the airport in CPH and it's much closer to the heart of CPH.

If you want to take the train to Copenhagen city from the airport it's only about 4$ and if you want to take the train from ARN to Stockholm the price is about 30$. So there is a big difference there for sure.

Edit: Both cities are very beautiful and offers alot to do and see. But go for CPH.

I have to agree with you and CFM-56.

Go for CPH, if you only have about half a day.

Stockholm is a nice city though Smile/happy/getting dizzy

You wan't have any time to see Stockholm if you take the connection at ARN. You arrive at 6.30 am from BKK and flight SK945 to ORD leaves at 10.20 am. Even if the train to down town Stockholm only takes 20 minutes, you will be short of time.

I would have gone via CPH. The airport is compact and have a very nice transit area with shops and bars, far better than ARN in my opinion!

I've experienced both ARN than CPH as transit and I suggest CPH. Very nice airport and you'll be in the centre of the city in a very short time.
Both cities are really nice to visit but if you have only half a day CPH is the right choice.

SK945, yes you're right. I overlooked the time it leaves ARN while going through my timetables.

So it looks like CPH it is! Big grin

Btw, are both airports SAS hubs?

Both Copenhagen, Stockholm and also Oslo are SAS hub airports.

However, Copenhagen is the main international hub for SAS and the largest airport in the Nordic region.
