According to ''luchtvaartnieuws.nl'' KLM has orderd 2 more 777's with delivery in januari 2006. Both aircraft will be equiped with EFB, just like all the 9 other 777's in KLM's fleet. According to KLM its a very good moment to order 777's since the financial options on ordering 777's are pretty good, also the market asks for more 777's.
9 777's are active in the KLM fleet with 1 more to come in Januari, in 2006 KLM will have 12 777-200ER's.

I wonder if KLM will consider the Boeing 7E7 in the future

Good news for KLM and Boeing! Any idea whether these will be used to replace existing aircraft or for expansion?
it will replace some 767's, KLM only has orderd 6 A330's and one 777 for replacing the 12 767's , so actually they needed 5 more aircraft to replace the whole 767 fleet, wich are 2 orders made up today, guess KLM will order more A330's 777's in 2006 or 2007 since they are replacing the 767's really slow and so they have time enought to think about the replacement.
I wonder if KLM will consider the Boeing 7E7 in the future
maybe, bot not in the near future, KLM clearly said they won't order a new aircraft type in the next couple of years.

Hamlet,
What routes would they be interested in for the -200LR? Are the Jakarta routes nonstop or one stop from Amsterdam? Do they have many other routes that would require that range? The S.A. routes should be fine with their 772ERs.

Perhaps KLM could be looking at the -200LR for the increase in cargo capability that would be available for some of their longer -200ER routes.

Perhaps... just curious as to what routings they'd need that on, because pretty much anywhere they fly (or plan on flying) 772ERs, they can still derive a hefty payload onboard from those aircraft.

Unsure. I wasn't told very many specifics, only that they were under consideration. IMO, they won't be ordered, only the -300ER will be, but you never know. The only thing I could think of at the time was non-stops to Australasia.
"Good stuff Hammy.... but you sure (knowing KL) that they didnt mean -200LRF?"
I think the -200F at KLM is a matter of when, not if. But no, these were specifically -200LR's. I was actually told this quite some time ago (@ March, IIRC), well before the -200F was confirmed.

I don't think the -200ER's can carry much cargo with a full passenger load from Jakarta to Amsterdam and that's the direction that requires the capability.

Unless they've got any extensive cargo contracts from the region, that aren't yet significant enough to require a freighter; any compulsory payload restriction on that route with 656K GE90-94B powered birds would be nigh-insignificant at best.
The still air on the route is shorter than even other Euro operations such as CDG-SCL.

What is the time frame for replacing the 767s? I fly them from IAD often. What/when will that flight get replaced with A330/T7?
from april 2005 untill august 2007 , they will be replaced with both A330 and 777
