After laying off 12 top managers and freezing 35 open management positions, Aloha is asking clerical and ramp employees for more concessions. Aloha would like these employees to:

-Make a temporary, 3 year 10% wage cut permanent (which was agreed upon so that AQ could get their loan guaranteed approval by the ATSB)
-Another 10% wage cut in addition to the previous 10%
-Take back a 2% increase that went into effect Dec 1
-Pay 25% of their medical/dental premiums (employees currently pay nothing)
-Change overtime rules, including eliminating double time
-Reduce vacation and holidays
-Eliminate all contract grievances
-Extend the contract till April 2009

It is expected that all employee groups will be asked to take the same concessions. Aloha also announced a 4th straight quarterly loss of $6 million for the 3rd quarter.

Makes me wonder why they just added two flights from RNO if they are having such problems... don't think they were re-deployments from other markets, as far as I know.

I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't work for the airline.

AQ has cut Rarotonga, American Samoa, and Majuro from their network. Also, flying transpac to the mainland is more profitable for AQ.

They are the only airline serving Reno-SoCal markets nonstop and have become quite popular with Reno business people. They serve RNO-SNA/SAN/BUR in the AM and SAN/BUR/SNA-RNO in the PM.

Reno is gonna look mighty good with 3 Aloha 73G's spending the night each night  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

-Aloha!
