After all the discussion "sharkfin" or no "sharkfin" for the 7E7/787 I was thinking old hat! The TU-104 had a lovely sharkfin. By the way, the windows below the tail, were they in the toilets?

Bloody copycats, the tail of a tu104, the nose of a caravelle, the dimesions of the 332 and the materials of a starship...

Just jooking! I love those pictures of old Russian jet liners. Very functional & designed to meet requirements very different from the west..

now, 10 years after the cold war, we are allowed to recognize many of them were brilliant without being accused of being a commie..

Nice observance but think 7E7 more radical sweep. From what I can very dimly remember from my only flight in the 104 those windows are for the lavs but I can't say if they were on both sides or if all three were for lavs or any for galley.

Ugh, the photo reminds me of another trip - Tiajuana MX for grad nite party

The final config of the tail isn't set yet; there's another 6 months to go so I wouldn't automatically assume that the shark fin design is going to be on the final version.
