VS Finalizes Order Of 13 A346 With Airbus

Virgin Atlantic has finalized it's deal with Airbus for 13 A346 and 13 options.

so will these be replacing 744s? or for additional routes.

I hope the 744s stay around a bit longer.

I'd say the 744s will be relegated to highcapacity routes (since the Upper class suites have been added to all birds) and the 346s will take over LHR to the far east etc.

my understanding is that these will replace the outgoing 343s and add to the fleet so that VS can expand.

i think the idea is that some 343s (i guess the newer ones with Odyssey) will be converted to UCS.

the MOU was signed in August, not the final contract.
that's why it has not appeared in the orderbook yet
