Air Europa will likely become one of the launch customers for the Airbus A350. The airline intends to announce an order for up to 10 aircraft soon. In the meantime Air Europa already plans to introduce an A330 and A340 into its fleet for the summer 2005 schedules.

From Bloomberg

Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Airbus SAS, the world's largest
planemaker, won an order from Spanish carrier Air Europa for 10
A350s worth 1.5 billion euros ($2 billion) the first contract for
the model that will compete with Boeing Co.'s planned 7E7.
Air Europa, Spain's third-largest carrier and until now a
Boeing customer, will take delivery of the 250-seat plane between
2010 and 2012, the Llucmajor, Spain-based airline said in an e-
mailed statement. The airline also took options on two more planes,
worth an additional $300 million if exercised.
