Hey guys,
I went to CCS last week to pick up a friend who was arriving from MIA. While waiting for him in the arrivals area, I saw many pax that arrived from CDG with AF. I saw a family who had their bags checked CDG-CCS-MAR. That's Paris-Caracas on AF and then Caracas-Maracaibo with Aeropostal. They were also holding tickets that said Caracas-Maracaibo.
So after looking at that... I ask you all: is there a codeshare agreement between Aeropostal and Air France? Why can Air France give out Aeropostal boarding passes and check their luggage in CDG for a domestic venezuelan flight? Any ideas?
Merci!
Viasa we miss you!. Good times will return after Chavez is gone!

Yeah that sounds extremely weird unless there is some kind of agreement between the two I see no other way of doing it, and I don't think there is. There is no way of checking your bags with VH at CDG.
My question would be who issued the bag tickets, it ussually says so and I doubt AF would do that for VH.

Possibly it's a cooperative alliance, not necessarily meaning going as far as a codeshare agreement.
Take AV's case for instance. They currently codeshare with Delta, Iberia, Taca and Mexicana, but have strong cooperative ties with CO and AF also [not meaning codesharing], which were transferred from ACES.

Luis,
If you book a flight from Par to any point in Venezuela served by VH under the VH fare structure (that is, you ask for a flight quote from Par by VH) you will get the sort of arrangement you are talking about: AF CDG-CCS and VH from CCS to MAR, PMV, SVZ, you name it.
It is a cooperative agreement.. but hardly a codeshare for the time being.
Rumour here in Cancún is that relations between UX (Air Europa) and VH are very strained to the point that UX began its own services to UIO and GYE a week and a bit ago when this was a route to be flown by VH from CCS feeding in pax from MAD. There is talk that the current codeshare between UX and VH is just about dead and will not be renewed when it comes up for revision. UX is formally a member of SkyTeam as of January next and they are planning to get more planes next year to look after other Caribbean and South American markets. UX's "voice" within that alliance would carry some weight in the event of VH attempting any kind of codesharing with AF, for instance.
