While driving home from work I saw what appeared to be a 747-200? (short upper deck with no visible winglets).
It was white with a blue tail and at first looked like a helios 767 but then banked showing it's 4 engines and 'hump'.
Does anyone know what exactly it was, where its going and if its coming back to Luton any time soon??
Any info much appreciated as 747's at Luton always seem to escape without me noticing!!

Thanks a lot
Brett

Maybe a European 747, G-BDXF maybe.

Most likely an airline has chartered it, someone like Monarch. I looked on lutons website, nothing with Europeans Flight Code is due to take off for a flight that i can see.

Sorry i cannot be of help any more.

It was G-BDXJ, a B747-200 in the Air Atlanta Europe livery. It was parked on stand 21 and departed at 12:30 for Las Palmas, opperating at BY116A.

It was very nice on board considdering its age, but the hosties weren't as hot as they normally are on Air Atlanta!

Cheers MAC

Since there are no Britannia flights to LPA on Saturday 25th, I would think there is quite high demand for today's flight and a returning flight on Monday 3rd January 2005, a bank holiday in the UK.

BY116B is due back into LTN at 11.15pm according to Luton's website.

The flight is however running 2hrs 40mins late as was schedued back into LTN at 8.35pm.

Many other flights are also running two hrs late what happening to cause so many delays.
