If some of these flights are added like Amritsar-Birmingham-Toronto its going to make my project at university very interesting. I also wonder whether the Amritsar-Birmingham-Toronto flight will start in DEL or BOM and what will happen during the fog season with the routing of this flight.
Of course this article could be wrong but I thought I would post it seeming as it is one of the first insights into AI plans for 2005.

Though this rumour would be great (the flight-routing would be optimal), I doubt whether it is clever, isnce the visa regulations of the UK are too restrictive for transit pax, needing a visa.
I would rather expect FRA to be the layover point
What a/c would it be?? leased 747/777, or an own 310 ?
Though of course by May this could have all changed.
I still can't work out how 3 flights a week will start in Amritsar. The aircraft for at leased 1 of those flights will have to come from either DEL or BOM. Also Amritsar not will have connections to other cites other than 2 flights a week to DEL unless some new flights are launched.
Also why do articles still have mistakes in them Note the one here being Birmingham will be the national carrier’s first stop in the UK outside London.

wont this atq-bhx-yyz flight be vvv low yielding and not suited for a 3 class b 777 aircraft!!!
It will introduce a daily flight between Delhi and Hong Kong. "The flights to Shanghai and Osaka will also be increased from may 2005," an official said.

PIA changed the routing of their Pakistan-BHX-YYZ 777 flight because of operational reasons with the 777 at BHX. I'd be surprised if AI use the 777 to BHX, even though EK fly their 777s into BHX every day, the flight times from BHX-DXB are shorter than to YYZ or India I believe

Despite VK Verma's designation as CD, he very rarely has anything accurate of consequence to say to the media. Much of the same deal with Thulasidas. If you want accurate statements about AI's future plans, wait for comments from Shrin Lalwani or Capt. Hathi, rare as they may be. Even a Bhargava comment has more weight than Verma or Thulasidas. If everything these guys have said had been accurate in the past, the airline would probably be hubbing at Agartala and Patna by now.
Talk is cheap. There are plenty of plans on paper for plenty of new routes, just as they have been in the past. When the plans are concrete, thats when things will come to fruition. Not before.
