Hey there Charles,

yes, it's only a matter of time before the 763s and 319s get painted into the new colors...I don't think the 762s are going to be around long enough to get their share though! Sad

Regards,
-Omar S.

P.S: Next time try putting a question mark at the end of the topic if it's a question! Big grin

Never tell your girlfriend about all the 'action' you're getting at the airport - only photogs understand that.

The 762's are gone by June 05. The A319's are still relatively new,so repaintings won't be due til the D-Checks are due.

I never knew our topic titles had to be totally factually accurate. Hmm. Well I guess you learn something new every day after all...

I do look forward to seeing the 763's in the new livery, though. The A319's, and A320's won't look bad, either! If I flew United more, I would hope to get on one of these birds. They just aren't too competative out of PDX unless you are flying to ORD, DEN, or some destinations on the east coast anymore.

This is just a thought (meaning I have no factual information to back this up) but I would think that it would be awhile before we see any UA Airbii in the new livery seeing that the 320's that were closest or ready for D-checks were probably refitted for Ted and the remaining of the 319's and 320's have at least a little bit of time before they are due.

Who knows...but I love hear what any of the insiders have to say.

Acutally the TED planes were the newest in the fleet...not the earliest 320's ....from what I have seen on tail reg's.

The latest on the re-painting schedule...

3 more 757s will be repainted for the PS service in Jan...1 more in Feb for mainline
9 777s in Jan/Feb/Mar
2 767-300s in Feb/Mar
10 A320s (non-TED) in April/May

Hope this helps!

Because the repaints are happening when the aircraft go in for heavy maintanence that require the paint to be removed anyway--the new scheme is applied at much less cost than the pricey (and pricey to maintain) 'stealth' scheme.

AA777jr:

As has been previously discussed ad-nauseum on the board since the re-painting began here is my understanding of how UA 'saves' money by repainting their aircraft.

Aircraft have currently been repainted as they come up for their heavy D-checks, at which point in time UA would normally repaint the aircraft anyway.
Supposedly the new paint scheme is cheaper to apply to aircraft than the old one and therefore it is costing them less to repaint them in the new scheme vs. the old one, and since they are waiting for D-checks to come up, they would have been repainted anyway.
