Hi all,
I just saw a report about South Korea/Japan on the German TV broadcaster "Phoenix". They showed a hotel in between Tokyo-Narita Airport which is called "tree-root" (translated from Japanese via German into English ), the rate per night is approximately 7 EUR and you have a perfect view on the main runway(s) from your room.
The problem is that the owners of this hotel are anti-airport people and they refuse to close their hotel because they want to avoid an expansion of Narita.
I had to cancel a trip to Japan this year but I am planning to visit the country in the upcoming year, so a very cheap hotel next to NRT would be appreciated.
Are spotters welcome in this hotel? Has anyone stayed there actually? Has anyone more information about this hotel?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Patrick
Edit: Typo. There are probably a few more (Sorry, I am tired ).

i don't know about this hotel but when i visited NRT earlier this year there was alot of protests happening, best to stay away from that.
for a good hotel and rooms with a view, the hotel Marroad is where most spotters stay, it looks over the entire length of the main runway, from your room you can get perfect lineup shots of a/c on 16, you just request a high room that looks over the airport. it's a 3 min walk to Sakura No Yama Park for the afternoon approaches on runway 16 or departures if they are using 34, you can also walk over to the famous Glory Hole point where the a/c lineup shots come from!
room price is about $65-75 Australian $ per night, very cheap for Tokyo and the narita area. shops are close by also!
