I think the horrible earthquake that struck off the coast of Sumatra may have serious consequences for a number of low-coast carriers (LCC's) that just started up in Southeastern Asia. Many of these LCC's cater heavily to flying to the Phuket Island area for tourism, and now that Phuket Island/Shi Shi Island area very heavily damaged by the tsunamis, that could seriously depress tourism to that area for years until the resorts are cleaned up and rebuilt.

As such, this could force a number of these new LCC's to go out of business or merge to survive.
