EXCEPT Gulf. And expect the AI mgmt to whine about "treating LHR separately". That is the catch.
AI has no confidence to tkae on the competition. And rightly so considering that it has reduced to no more than a degenerate third world carrier today. The ultimate victims of the "protect AI" attitude is the travelling public and the honest taxpayers who have to put up with shoddy services and rusty aircraft that have seen better days and crew who are more interested in pilfering items from the aircraft than in the passengers.

Instead of wasting time by ordering a bunch of new planes, if this decision is indeed true and holds considerable weight then both airlines should scout the market for young and used B 772ERs or B 763ERs to be obtained at good rates as its impossible finding A 332s and A 343s in the used market today.
If theyre smart, they should approach DL-UAL-AA to lease some unwanted B 777s or B 763s especially DL which needs the spare cash desperately and somebody to buy its cancelled few B 777-200ERs!!!
Speaking of B 767s...can someone plz tell me what is EVA AIR doing with its fleet of B 762s and B 763s? Are they still flying for the airline or gone to someone else? If so then who?

Will 9W and S2 use AI's unused frequencies into airports or will they be applying for their own?
When air bilaterals are concluded, the traffic rights are granted to the desginated carriers of the respective countries. Hence when international routes are opened up for private Indian carriers, their names will be added to the designated carriers from the Indian side. No airline can independently apply for their own set of traffic rights.

According to this article it seems to know where IC wants to fly to. Hopefully it is correct because it would be interesting to see how well IC does flying to New Zealand. Also does anyone know if IC has actually been approved to fly to Saudi Arabia or is it creative reporting

HAWK: Mid-Day? Seriously?
As a Bombayite, i thought u might be well aware of the reputation that his rag carries. They are the "Aaj Tak" of the print media! Only Mid-Day could have carried an article of the "Bandra Boy flies 20000 miles to vote" kind of crap.

9W is already in the process of taking in A340-300's from a "European carrier" rumored to be SAS.
I wouldn't think that SK is in a position to rid itself of one or more of its scarce wide body resources. As far as I know, the only A343s that are about to become available are the ex-Sabena airframes that are currently operating with LH. Unless AF would be willing to offload some of their A343 frames.
