Royal Air Maroc's Subsaharan African operations having seen a +34 % increase in passenger ( and another 50 % Increase forecasted for 2005 ) I assume they will be opening destinations, I know of Douala, Cameroon for 2005 so far. So which destinations do you think we might see anytime soon? keeping in mind that almost 50% of RAM's passengers TO and FROM subsaharan africa connect in CMN to europe, North America and the Middle-east, and that is the thing they are focused on right now.

Thanks.

The airline is very mismanaged, they had a chance to increase their input in africa especially with connections to north america when Nigerian and Ghaneans markets were in need of these kind of service to America, but personnally i had enough of red tape and bureaucracy of this airline and its government by blocking low cost carriers to use Casablanca or Rabat and reduce airfare, i.e: flight from LHR to Gibraltar is 3x to 4x less expensive to similar one to Tangier which is 9 miles away.

RAM will more than double frequency to Cairo next February as they increase frequency and re-route their JED flights via the Egyptian capital.

Currently they have 3x weekly B738 flights (AT256) that routes CAS-CAI-RUH-CAI-CAS.

In January they are adding an extra weekly CAS-CAI-CAS B738 flight (AT270)

Then in February CAI get 3 more weekly B738 flights (AT258) as AT's JED flights are re-routed via CAI.

Then in June JED will be split from CAI and served with its own 3x weekly B738 dedicated flights (AT250) and CAI's 3x weekly AT258 flights become terminator services (AT270).

This will represent quite a significant increase in the CAS-CAI market in terms of frequency and capacity, which is great news!

MS's service will (unfortunately) remain the same at 2x weekly A320 flights (MS848).

Horus, I was actually aware that CAI, YUL and JFK will get daily RAM service starting 2005 but didnt know the details on how it would work, thanks a lot for the info! Sevilla, Lisbon, Istnabul and Douala are announced destinations for 2005...

But Im interested on how the company will fare in the African continent since it seems to be doing extremly well, which is the reason why I believe they should server more destinations and add more frequencies to their existing service.

Bambicruz, i don't know where you got those destinations from apart from Lisbon that started on 16 DEC, i constantly checking their website and none of those are mentioned and also their fleet is outdated as so far 5 B734 been handed over to 8A (Atlas blue, BMM), being moroccan this airline is embarrassing us with high fares and poor service, and i was wondering when one day they will try to come up with a respectable and good looking paint scheme.
