The Photo above states Airbus CC-150 Polaris,which is a A310-300F,then why the new name.

It's just a name the Canadian military gave them. Kind of like Air Force One, which is a 747-200, is referred to as the VC-25.

I think it's just the military deignation given to that aircarft by the Canadian Air Force. Similar to how the following are renamed by the USAF:
