Does anyone know if there is a scheduled date for the stating of builiding the 7e7? Also,, Will it take anywhere as long as the A380 is taking to build?

Design freeze- Mid 2005. By this time, more than 95-100% of the airplane design will be established and nearly all suppliers will be established

Construction start- Late 2005, Early 2006. The first peices of the structure and first systems will begin to be assembled. Rolls Royce and GE will debut their engines around this time.

Roll-out- Early 2007. The prototype 7E7 will likely debut to the public in early 2007, making its flight shortly after that. The prototype will probably be at Faranborough 2007....

Certification/Entry to service- Early 2008. Full production will be established, and deliveries will beign.

I don't know DFW....with the design freeze I don't think they can stay on schedule, I would go with 2008 to be realistic, but we shall see. I would personally love to see it next year!!!  Big thumbs up

Doh... Farnborough = even year.

How about Paris 2007 ?  Big grin

Edit... and full production won't really be reached in 2008. It will be a few years before the 7E7 line is rolling-out at full capacity.
