HI
On Thursday I flew FRA-LHR with LH. While walking from Gate A42 to the Senator Lounge I saw D-AIKE, the brand new A333, taxing to the runway. As I saw this beauty for the first time I was very surprised seen it already named.
(e.g. D-AIKC wasn`t named for months after delivery!)
The city D-AIKE is named after begins with "L" , but I couldn`t see exactly because it was too far away. And it was a quite long name....

Can someone help me here? And: Are D-AIKC and D-AIKD now also named, and if yes: how?
What about D-AIKF? Already delivered to LH?

Thank you,
D-AIRY

- DAIKE: no info - sorry!
- DAIKF: has already been delivered to LH but not yet performed its first commercial flight

D-AIKG is awaiting its final paintjob.
D-AIKC is still unnamed. Saw her today.

By the way I love LH's reg-system. Just makes it so easy to tell the a/c type, entrance into fleet etc...

Well so at least my former hometown got a pleasant new plane. Going from a 733 to an A333 is really a good move. So for the first time "Siegen" will also be seen outside of europe... I'm glad for my former hometown, just if my new hometown would go from a CRJ700 to a widebody...

Thank you!

Indeed there are lot of unamend Aircrafts at the LH-Fleet (A332, A306 DAIAY/DAIAZ) for that I would have a lot of city-names to baptize them. I`m just wondering why my favourites D-AIAY and D-AIAZ haven`t been named yet...they are so for so long in the fleet.

Well, I think we`ll know very soon what D-AIKE and the rest is named. As LH always takes names of former aircrafts ( 733--> 333) I`m just thinking about possible names. "Ludwigsburg" is a real possibility for me. As "Cuxhaven", "Minden" and "Siegen" are former names of 733 this would fit and from the length also.... But, we`ll see. For D-AIKC this would mean: LH will name it "Berchtesgaden" (and not the nearby Oberpfaffenhofen) or "Hamm" (if this plane is already removed from the fleet)

BTW: What happend to D-ABXD "SIegen", when did it leave the fleet? I flew on it in March on a short wonderful flight MUC-FRA

It now serves with Jet2.

And I had the pleasure to fly FRA-ARN on it. One of my best LH flights so far.

On a similar note, is there anywhere one might find the list of LH a/c names. I was on a A343 from SFO to MUC and I couldn't get the reg. Noted part of the name but I can't recall it completely.

Wow " Landshut"!
Doesnt this bring back the memories of Mogadishu in the early 70ties?
I have seen LH's 737 named "Landshut" the first time in July'1986 when
passing trough Bucharest's OTP Airport. That was still with the old livery
which I always liked so much.

Well probably just as much as the A319 that had the name previously...

Will Germanwings keep D-AILK then for longer? When D-AIPH went to EW and then 4U the name "Münster" was not transferred to another plane, and now since it's back with Lufty it again has the name, which wouldn't be the case if D-AILK returns to LH.

@Fxmd11,

the "Landshut" which you have seen is actually a different one from the mogadishu plane.
