I remember song originally planned on having planes with orange and purple paint in addition to the yellow that they currently have on all of their aircraft. Whats happening with that?

I am not sure of the yellow you speak of, as they are an awful shade of GREEN!

As far as I knew, they were only to be in green. Someone redid a picture in photoshop or something of a Song plane in several different colors...royal blue, orange, etc. Perhaps that is what you were thinking of.

The green looks like someone sneezed on the airplane. Blue would look much better.

Yeah, because blue isn't already the most over-used color in airplane liveries today...

Aren't many green liveries out there. I can ID a Song airplane from miles away; it's very distinctive.

If Song was created to fight off jetBlue, they might have deliberately avoided using blue in their livery.

NYC,

You are not wrong. Initially, Delta did plan on using lime, orange, and purple to paint the airplanes, but as Song began to roll out, someone decided against it, although not sure if it was painting costs or what. It could have possibly been that they wanted Song to get publicity, but when your planes are flying around in different colors, Mr. John Passenger won't know the difference between the orange and the green plane and think its another airline or something. In the end, it appears that Song has decided to stick with the lime green for the outside colors. Personally, I was looking forward to the purple planes myself. Maybe as Song expands, we will see new colors brought into the light.
