As this flight will be operated by PrivatAir on a BBJ2 (B737-800), this means that the A330-200 currently being flown to EWR (6 times a week) can be redeployed elsewhere. Anyone know where? Or will it be used to increase frequencies to existing destinations?

It will be used to increase frequencies (e.g. YUL goes back to 7/7) and take over 3 weekly flights from the A343 to JFK (2) and BOS (1) during the summer. The A343 will increase HKG to 7/7 (+1) and NRT to 6/7 (+1) in return.

We are so tight with our longhaul fleet that an add'l a/c will be most welcome. Lately, we had to constantly "reschedule" (read : delay) LX288 to JNB by 12 hours because HB-JMA (343) had gone tech and we had no spare capacity at all.
We will also use this 332 to return GVA-JFK to daily services (all thursday flights have been canceled since dec.).

As stated above, Swiss has been in dire need of some relief capacity ever since the last MD11 was withdrawn a bit over 2 months ago. The closure of the LX-operated EWR route on January 15 will provide just that. As long as no extra widebodies are taken up, which seems to be the case for the foreseeable future ever since the plan for extra A343s has been abandoned, any expansion of frequencies will come at a cost of frequency reductions elsewhere in the network.
