A very very VERY reliable source at USAirways (management in Arlington, not airport gossip queen) has told me that PSA will not be entering the Florida markets as the Air Midwest/USAirways Express withdrawal occurs.
All flights that are scheduled as USX in and out of FLL will be operated by
MID ATLANTIC EMBRAER 170'S!!!
can't wait to fly these birds from Key West to Ft. Lauderdale!

A bit of a surprise. But it'll be great to see those birds @ FLL!

How is that going to happen with funding for new US birds having gone down the drain over 2 moonths ago? Embrear pulled the plug on hte financing after the 2nd US bankruptcy filing.

Every single EMB-170 has gone through FLL headed to the USAirways, so they are nothing new at FLL.
I would not hold my breath to seeing them anyway. USAirways is on it's last leg and I'll say by the Super Bowl they will be no more.

I believe that Embraer and US have restarted deliveries after renegotiating money.

EMBQA, you are throwing yourself out on the edge of a limb there, but I will hold you that forecast. If it happens, so be it, but if it doesn't, I want to be the one to feed you a huge plate of deep fried crow.

Schedules in Sabre are currently showing those FLL-EYW flights operating w/CRJ equipment. I kind of doubt we'll see the E70 on that route. Although, it would probably have better take off performance than the CRJ's from EYW's very short runway.

PSA is not coming into Florida, I guess this decision was made a week or two ago, the flights listed in the OAG do not reflect theses changes yet, but I believe they have now increased the authorization on all flights to 70, from 50.
I'll take a look in Sabre tomorrow, but the loads on the USX EYW/FLL flights so far look fantastic.

The North American Office for Embraer is in FLL. The aircraft headed to the US stop there to clear US Customs and also go through a short indoc inspection. Here are just a few photos...

The E-170 has been to EYW on proving runs. Due to fewer jets delivered to US than planned, the CRJ has been put in the schedule. Maybe the E-170 will come help later.

its a month before start and they have not hired a station manager nor hired customer service agents in EYW, nor have they signed a lease with the airport
*tongue in cheek*
whomever comes in, its going to be a baptism by fire as no one has the staffing to handle the E 170s, regardless. All of US's ground equipment, with exceptions of 2 bag carts, are in no-op condition. 3 of the tugs are rotting away, as are 5 bag carts.

Supa7E7 care to provide further info on the EYW "proving runs"?
Good sources on my end state "unless they were run overnight, nothing doing"

Everytime I see this aircraft I see a baby 737 with winglets. Very cool looking.

When I saw the title of this thread, my reaction was, you may well see E170's at FLL, but I think they'll be operating for Chatauqua/Delta Connection, not USAirways Express.
