PLH - A decision should be given this year regarding the extension of runway 13/31, announcement of flights to CDG/AMS is still being talked about by Air Southwest.

NQY - Completion of the terminal expansion, should also be a fourth airline operating there soon.

    I'll add to GLA:

Emirates upgrade to 777-300ER 1st Oct.

FlyGlobespan have just announced that Malaga and Palma will be double daily.

FlyGlobespan to announce a replacement for ORY ?

CO to upgrade frequency to 11x weekly on 752

    PIA- To start GLA - Lahore/Karachi/Islamabad ?

LH to start FRA or MUC ?

    SN to start GLA-BRU ?

    Wizz to start GLA-WAW ?

Lithuanian Airlines to start GLA-Vilnius ?

    QR to start GLA-Doha

Still rumours of tx flights such as NWA-DTW but highly improbable at this late stage.

I recently read in an aviation magazine (can't remember which one now) that BRS has been in talks with both Wizz Air and Air Polonia. Now that Air Polonia is no more, perhaps Wizz will start flights this year to WAW, KTW and maybe GDN from the southwest.

It take what the ET have said with a pinch of salt  Big grin , I'd be quite happy to be proven wrong, but I think this from GSM is their replacement for ORY, for this summer anyway.

I think it's more likely to be a Delhi-Amritsar-Salford-Bradford-Birmingham-Wolverhampton-Toronto flight

Actually AC now has reintroduced the YYZ-DEL flight (not sure when they did that as I don;t live permanently in Canada anymore). I think they used to run that on a good old L-1011 via Rome or Milan if I'm not mistaken

The chance of SN starting GLA is very good. There has been quite a positive dialogue. No idea of schedule etc, but will post more when I hear later in the week.

Have heard that LTN are in talks with Aer Arran to secure future routes to Ireland, with the success of the twice daily services to Waterford and Galway.

Would be great to see an LTN-ORK service, that would mean LTN then has Ireland pretty much covered as they will have the new LTN-SNN services starting in March.

Britannia/Thomsonfly will continue their weekly service from LTN-SSH throughout the summer. They will be the only airport other than MAN and LGW that will have the service.

WOuld be great to see some long haul charters out of LTN and save having to trek around the M25 to LGW, despite the length of the runway ZB successfully operated their A330 to SFB before 9/11.

Dont see much more LCC growth at LTN this year since the annoucnement of FR launching 4x 738's at the airport. Late last year there was phenominal growth at the airport with numerous low cost routes. EZY are taking over defunct airline VolareWebs LTN-Cagliari service from March which will be daily.

The 2nd daily rotations between AGP and PMI could possibly occur during the early hours of the morning. Which would still leave room another aircraft to operate another destination.

Anyone heard anything about FlyBE increasing flights from LPL and NWI? When do they expect to receive the 737's??

The Carlisle flights are being operated by a Bath-based travel agency with a BAe 146-100 (G-JEAO) which is currently at Filton. Flights from Luton each morning and then back at night. Aircraft available for charter from Carlisle during the day. Looking to start flights about June/July time.

The plan is to link the flights to Easyjets routes but fares are not cheap (£200 for a round trip). Also, the timings of the flights favour London-based business people looking for day trips.

Fingers crossed this works or something else is announced soon. The website has gone back under construction again.

    Jamie.
