I was told yesterday that the first 744 for SS , will NOT be F-HSUN which is at Amsterdam waiting to be painted , but F-GTUI , which is already painted at Phoenix or San Antonio. It will arrive at Paris Orly around Jan 10th , so next week , and will enter revenue service around Jan20th.
Did someone in Arizona or Texas see it yet ?Any pictures ?

Wondering what the seating arrangement in them will be be ? As bad as Britannia 767's to be used in 2-4-2 seating arrangement with 315 passengers to Austrailia ?

I fear the worse....a 743 used to be "containing" more than 500 pax
what about squeezing 550 pax in a 744? who needs an A380 after that  Wink/being sarcastic

seriously, I didn't know Corsair went on a shopping spree for 744s
is there a thread I can read?

Varig MD-11: This is about the 4th Corsair Topic about their 744s  Smile

They will probably fit in about 550 pax on the 744. (I dont think you can put that much more in the 744, as in the 743)

Corsair's B743 = 25 "Classe Grand Large" + 555 Y = 580 seats

Corsair's B744 = 36 "Class Grand Large" (U/D) + 522 Y = 588 seats

Correction the 744 will seat 587 seat= 29C+558Y.
29C+36Y U/D and the rest on the main deck. 4 more seats in C as more room taken from the cockpit, and 3 more seats as one lav had been eliminated on the main deck.
2 lavs in C just after the cockpit door for C class and 11 lavs for Y on the main deck. Y pax have to go down and they want to use the lav...

I flew SS from OAK-ORY but I don't know if they will bring back that service. The price was good and it included a hotel and airfare.

Tom, they would have sold it because the 744s are replacing the 743s. Air Atlanta have bought that 747-300 along with others and I believe they are to be used on the Travel City Direct flights, in TCD colours. However, I would have thought that the aircraft would have been Air Atlanta Europe and G- registered if this was the case. Anyone know anymore?

ZK-NBT,

 Innocent Oooops ! sorry !
The correct answer was : 36 C + 552 Y = 588.
That was the initial configuration planned...but it seems it has been changed according to Corsairf/a.
