I noticed that too, but it strikes me as funny that the category is called Central and Latin America when there is also a separate category called South America. I guess both should be merged into one single category to make things more competitive. Otherwise, the Central & Latin America category should be renamed Mexico & Central America. Anyway, one thing cannot be denied: MX is really a world-class carrier with very high standards of customer service.

WELL.......MX has been around for 80 years plus!!!!!!..no wonder they have won the award for the past 7 yrs.....MX should be the national carrier of Mexico...a airline with a proud heritage for a proud country!

Agree RCS763av, but if you look at the "South America" category at the W.T.A. site (yeah, as I said, both categories should be merged to make things more competitive and to avoid confusion), you'll see that the carrier who won this year is RG. This is completely unexpected, since the general perception is that LA and JJ are much better carriers.

Each day I'm starting to "lose faith" in these rankings, since LA is always recalling the "number 1 XX award", as the best airline last year OAG of the region.
I mean, my point is: you chose the airline, I'll give you the "proper" number 1 ranking for that airline...
Anyway, I've always heard nothing but good comments about MX and AM... so good for them: more competition based in service. Although I do recognize I find very ugly those seats of the MX767 posted above

I'm not trying to say that Mexicana doesn't deserve the title, I'm just saying that these awards aren't very accurate. Ex: How can RG be best everything in S.A. when their service has completely deteriorated, they operate a not-so-young fleet, and have limited IFE? Sure, they are the largest airline in L.A. but that alone doesn't make them the best airline by any standards...
And as you put it, Travel Agents world over pick the airlines...RG is much bigger than JJ internationally, and this is why I figure they were picked: RG makes them more money...
However, it's still nice to see them being recognized!
