From The Wall Street Journal:

WASHINGTON -- Flyi Inc. (FLYI) disclosed Tuesday that it entered into an agreement with GE Commercial Aviation Services Inc., a unit of General Electric Co. (GE), and some of its affiliates to provide for the early termination of leases on 10 regional jet aircraft during the first quarter ending March 31.

[...]

The memorandum provides for the early termination of leases for between six and 10 additional regional jet aircraft during the second quarter under terms similar to the first 10 aircraft and provides that the GE unit will consent to the restructuring of rentals to defer a significant portion of the payments due through April 30, 2006.

I figure that is the best thing they can do with too many of those CRJ's!! Hopefully the added seats and range of the A319's will help add loads to the existing DH CRJ fleet and overall load factors before its too late!

I wonder where the planes will end up.

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Really stinks, I'll be saying goodbye to a lot of our FO's. I was hoping we could dump the FRJ's(I heard maybe somewhere in the Far East) and even the J41's(I hear they're parked in Maine??). Not that those items would have helped much, but still. The biggest thing is that I wish we could bump up delivery of about 5-7 more Airbii. If we had 30(an impossible dream) by the end of the year, we'd(to my knowledge) be able to call back practically every pilot this company has furloughed. And though they've been a cashhog, I still like our RJ's.

Seems logical for them to do that. BTW for those that work at Indy, when will the 319s get the PTV's?
