Newsnight with Aaron Brown on CNN just had its "tomorrow's papers" wrap up, and the Wednesday, January 12, 2005 edition of the International Herald-Tribune is carrying a color photo of the A380 being constructed above the fold, along with an article about it before the roll-out.

Just shows how xenophobia is standard practice in the US these days. It is obvious a Boeing airplane would not have received such a warm welcome from Aaron Brown.
Aaron Brown's comments should be clarified and not taken out of context. He's an anchorman for CNN with a strong newspaper background, and at the end of his show he holds up front pages of newspapers from around the country and the world to relate how different regions report the news and what is topical outside the U.S. It's the furthest thing from xenophobia I could think of.
As he was moving onto the next paper and putting down the IHT, he jokingly said something like, "How would you like to be passenger number 555 getting off that plane?"
It was obvious to me, at least, that it had nothing to do with the origin of the plane, more the size, and he made a joke he would have made even if it was a Boeing plane.
