PARIS, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Aircraft maker Airbus's operating margin should be close to its 10 percent medium-term target as soon as 2004, Andreas Sperl, one of its executives, said on Wednesday.
This margin was 9.6 percent over the first nine months of the year.
The company, owned by European aerospace group EADS (EAD.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) , also expects orders for its future A350 plane should reach 50 to 60 units by June, Airbus chief commercial officer John Leahy said at a news conference.
The A350 plane would be launched when enough companies were interested in it, regardless of the state of aid-related negotiations between the United States and the European Union, Airbus chief Noel Forgeard said at the same conference.
