US a/c maker Boeing has decided not to build a new jet to head to head w the superjumbo A380 of arch rival Airbus.

According to Boeing, Airbus s market projetions are too optimistic.

I think if they airframe could offer a stretch and with new fuel efficient, 7E7 technology engines, they might have themselves a winner. Yes, it will NOT compete with the A380, but possible create its own little niche market in the pax market between the 777-300ER and the A380.

Yes !! Even Lufthansa is looking for a plane between 744 and A380 !! They are absolutely interested in a plane of that size. Guess some other airlines like e.g. Singapur, AF, Emirates; Quantas would be, too. Of Course not to mention non A380 customers like BA and CX

"Half decade old news"? I know that and you know that, but theres many that are saying a new 747 called Advanced are to roll out his spring  Insane
