The man was supposed to fly B6 to JFK. Hopefully he wasn't going to do anything with the gun onboard!

Old news nothing new. I think the guy is probably back home by now with a slap on the wrist. Important part is the TSA screener found it and did a great job.

Wasn't there a similar incident at FLL some time ago involving an old lady and a fire weapon of some sort?

EZEIZA,

I believe you're right. IIRC the old woman had a very small pistol hidden in a book buried in her purse/carry-on. I seem to remember her saying that she completely forgot about it being in there for years! Anyone feel free to correct me...

I've walked through security with a super sharp 4" serated rigging knife.

It was exposed and visible in a mesh bag, at the very front, anyone could see it.

Nobody noticed a thing. I was shocked when I opened that bag at destination, and there it was, sitting there. I'd forgotten, and the TSA hadn't noticed either.

LAX security cought it, as I thought they would, but the other, unnamed, airport, didn't notice a thing. They made me take my shoes off though.

They're not handing trophies out today
