Well, there are some new developments here in the soap called the Dutch aviation scene...
* Dutchbird has been declared bankrupt. The airline filed for bankruptcy yesterday after one of the biggest Dutch touroperators decided to buy it's seats at Transavia. Dutchbird stopped flying on 21 December last year. The airline was to be integrated into the Exel Aviation Group and in October 2004, the Group's CEO Harm Prins confirmed that Dutchbird was to be part of EAG and that the future of the airline and it's staff was secure. However, in December, Harm Prins was arrested for extortion and fraud. While in custody, owner of the Exel Aviation Group, Erik de Vlieger, announced that Dutchbird wasn't part of the EAG after all, but that the airline was taken over by Harm Prins himself. Shortly after the release of Prins, on December 17th, he announced himself as the CEO of Dutchbird. However, the damage had been done and Boeing terminated the lease of the airlines Boeing 757's.
* Mr Erik de Vlieger, owner of the Exel Aviation Group, but not the man in charge anymore has been released from the police station last Thursday. He had spent 4 days there on charges of extortion. At his release, De Vlieger said he wanted to become the new minister of Justice to make sure The Netherlands would be a better place...
* Regional daughter from the Exel Aviation Group, Air Exel, ceased all flights from Eindhoven today. Reason was that the airline didn't paid it's landing fees at Eindhoven and had a debt with the airport of 180.000 euros. Flights are still flying but from Maastricht. CEO Paul Janmaat issued a press statement that the airline will operate from Eindhoven again from Monday as the payment problems are solved.

That Exel Group never seems to amaze me. What a piece of rubbish that company is. It was all set up for criminals by criminals. What a shame for the people that work there.
Mister De Vlieger is fast becoming a crazy man (hij is volgens mij nu echt helemaal doorgedraaid).
Here in the Antilles, the other owner of Exel Aviation, N. Sandmann has now been charged with some sort of banking fraud in the USA in the 1980s.
In the Antilles everybody has given up hope for BonairExel, now that there seems be bad news (mostly criminal) from the EAG mostly every day.
I say it once more : EAG is a piece of sh... for a company !!
