When did TK cease its IST-BHX service? I would have assumed, what with so many connections to the Middle East and Central Asia, that it would have done well.

TK used to fly to BHX? Must have been years ago then...

Probably diversions to MAN or charter flights then. TK havent had scheduled flights to BHX in the last 5 years anyway

It came up at Istanbul on the screens! And they seemed to appear whenever I was there. Anyway, perhaps charters more than diversions.

I am surprised there isn't a link anyway, as there are bound to be plenty of people from all areas of the Middle East and Central Asia in the Birmingham/West Midlands areas. And then there's the VOR and pure leisure passengers to IST. Shame the IST-DEL flight doesn't depart 2000-2200 and the IST-KHI flight leaves at 1900 instead of 2000-2200, or else there could be connections to those.

I believe the TK charters were to do with a textiles exhibition being held at the NEC.

Okie doke.

Pe@rson, the problem with TK is that their airfares tend to be more expensive than competitors on UK-Asia/Middle East flights. Looking at airfares say between MAN and CAI, I found that AZ, AF, KL and LH (in that order) are cheaper than TK even though (it can be argued) the latter's service is inferior when compared to the rest.
