It's on the Flybe site too. http://www2.flybe.com/news/0412/01.htm
Saturday only service for the summer by the looks of it. From what I remember there has regularly been a summer service to Jersey from Southend, but usually as a charter for Travelsmith or someone I think.
On another note, does anyone know what G-MANG, G-MANC and a couple of others are doing at SEN? I saw them there last week.

MANG, MANC and other ATP's are in storage at SEN pending BAe finding someone to lease them to. MANP is awaiting handback to BAe and MANE/MANF are there in storage until either 2007 when they are due return or BACX can find someone who wants them.

Thanks Andy. One of the ATP's was over the far side of the runway doing engine runups. Don't know which one, but it was in Landor livery. It was strange seeing MANC there as I usually saw that up at GLA last year.

Didn't British Air Ferries used to operate a service to the Channel Islands from Southend years ago? I'm sure I remember them at least having a service to Guernsey, but could be wrong. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Ladies & gentlemen this is Captain Tobias Wilcock welcoming you aboard Coconut Airways flight 372 to Bridgetown Barb

Ah Another Thread about my home airport
FlyBE are starting a weekly Saturday service from JER to SEN. Now have Planning Permission to build a new terminal, I should expect other airlines to follow FlyBE, you may even see FlyBE having a few other routes from here - I think there is a market for this area.
The ATP's are in storage, and have been for some time now.
Believe it or not, in 1988 Southend was Britains 4th buisest airport - now it is probably the 400th buisest airport
Although, we do see quiet a few rare aircraft that come here for mantainance at many of the companies that are based on the airfield.

Lapper, that ATP doing egr's was probably MANL which went to Inflite for an out of phase engine change last week. It should be back with Loganiar now, tootling around the Highlands and Islands - or not as the case may be!!

I read about the go-ahead for the new terminal etc yesterday. Unfortunately it looks like it will mean an end to that area where all the spotter sit, next to the flying club. I tried to get a shot of that ATA 737 down to brushed metal this morning, but couldn't get it with a decent angle!
