I'm flying on US in the last weeks of march. The prices were great. Is it safe to assume that we will still see old navy and grey around at this time? If not will other carriers honor my ticket?

US is almost a guaranteed bet till June.. and I would say that it should be pretty safe to bet through December.. so no worries ..

So in essence what ERJ170 is saying, it's "almost" completely like for US to go under by June and is even more certain by December. It is simply too risky to chance flying on them....it's like Russian Roulette.

Jmc: I think ERJ is trying to say that US is in good operating condition up unitl then. Its after 6/30/05 that is in the gray area.

Aa777jr, did the results of the recent contract hearings and the ATSB's decision mean nothing to you? March should be a good month for US, very high volume with good possibilities in Florida and the Caribbean.

What ERJ170 is saying is this...
USAirways has financial backing until June 30, 2005.. They will no go under before then unless all of their aircraft explode at once...
After June 30, 2005.. there is definitely another 3 month period where it is guaranteed they will not go under. After October 2005, depending on how they are doing, it is highly probable that US Airways will still be around. After December 2005, it is more than likely that USAirways will be around. So go ahead and buy the damn ticket.. After all, airlines are starting to hit their high time periods and will more than likely stay until the low periods..

Q3 is always a good one for US Airways...so ERJ's observations are pretty good.
