Dear all,

noted in the system that IB beginning the 5 of this month will use the Airbus 340-600 till the 17th of february for the MAD - BOG flight IB-6741.

Loads for the MAD-BOG leg are low in the moment, all booking classes can be booked. For the return leg BOG-MAD all Eco tarifs are sold out, also Buisness looks with good loads.

Anyone has any idea why?

regards
Avianca

It looks like there is a lot of traffic on the MAD-BOG-MAD route on those days..hence the switch to the 340-600 for extra capacity. From what I can see....a lot of the earlier days are sold out on the MAD-BOG route and the later days sold out on the BOG-MAD route. Is it possible many people are taking vacations or going back to Colombia to visit family on those dates? Remember it is right around "Carnavales".

It is normal to find IB increasing capacity for short periods of hot activity/traffic. The A340-600, as well as the 747s have been seen in Bogota several times around this time of the year.

Remember it is right around "Carnavales".

It has nothing to do with the carnivals, tocayo. January is usually the time of the year when most Colombians travel, simple as that.

Right now the only city in carnival is Barranquilla [a.k.a Carnaval de Barranquilla] which can be ignored, they live in carnival the whole year anyways...  Yeah sure

SOUTHAMERICA:

But the change and flight loads that Avianca is talking about is from FEB 5th through the 20th more or less. Thats why I mentioned the carnavales.

Thats great...but we are talking about February  Big thumbs up Saludos!!

In fact they have already been using the A340-600 in January, I saw it yesterday, last sunday and on Jan 18. I hope they will bring it here next Sunday when I will go to the airport to see the last BA arrival.
