I just got off a Midwest flight two weeks ago and I was IMPRESSED. It is rare for an airline to bake cookies onboard. What I thought was a nice jesture was when I went to the bathroom (My Buy on Board lunch was still on the seat) I found fresh cookies waiting for me when I sat down. I thought the crews were very upbeat and enjoyable. How is this airline doing? I hope they expand.

I agree, and I've never even flown on them. But I really want to find a reason to fly to Milwaulkee sometime soon. I can say I was disappointed when they announced that SuperSaver service, but hey, whatever keeps you in business. The thing I like about them is that they don't try to over expand, and don't lower customer expectations to save a buck. Can't wait until the day that I get to try "America's favorite little airline."

Thank you very much for your compliment. I work for the regional side as a Flight Attendant, and we work with big brother as we go along in this industry. Right now there is a little bit of reorganizing going on in MKE and the outstations as well. The new 717's coming online will be configured 2-3 as a standard. But will still be offered as Signature Service. We are looking towards the future with great anticipation and great excitement.

My first flight ever was onboard a Midwest Express DC9-30 back in 2000. I flew CLE-MKE with them. Full meal service for the short morning flight, including the cookies. Very disappointed to see them adding the saver service. They had/have an awesome thing with their 2x2 seating. Can't beat that.

I flew MSY-MCI on the seasonal service. It was handled by Continental on the ground, and they treated us like **** because we held Midwest tickets. The plane was delayed, no announcement. We checked in, took forever. The agent said we were not "On the checkin list" when we checked in online. The agent didn't even bother to show up at the gate until the plane showed up. The moment I boarded that all changed, and stayed that way through MCI.

Remember once you board a YX flight it all changes from the other airline ground handling to excellent service. Saver Service was introduced to keep the money coming in. Unfortunately on the Saver Service there are no cookies. Signature Service still gets the cookies. However it is an inflight cafe system now on all flights. If things get better then hopefully the full signature service will come back as well as the service we provide on the FRJ's.

Are you sure about that? I havent flown saver service yet, but Midwest has re-emphasized its cookie program since the full service cutbacks. You are more likely to get cookies now than ever, because back in the day they were usually only offered on lunch flights. There are saver service trip reports mentioning cookies, and i have never heard of them being taken away.

Ottopylit, Looking for a reason to fly to MKE... The AI2005 Convention in MKE is July 18-25, 2005.
Did I hear right that the NEW 717s will have 2X3 Seating instead of 2X2, but still be Signature Service... Well, Their "Signature" is offering 2X2 Leather Seats. So what gives? I enjoyed the leather seats, and if that is going to be the case, I am glad I flew on it while I could... I will still fly Midwest, of course, because their crews are EXCELLENT... But why would they stray from the 2X2... I see no mention of this on their website. Right now, I am living in Kenosha, WI and I see tons of Midwest flights fly over me. (On Certain Days).
JetSoutheast... Can you elaborate as to the point of this post when you replied to the trip report that I wrote to which you were a part of that flight?
FutureFO.. I certainly could tell the difference... When I boarded, I asked for a crew picture, and the Captain joked "Take a picture of me, and I'll break your camera, ha ha." Continental was very unprofessional in MSY, and I did not appreciate the way they treated me.
The plane was delayed due to the snowstorm in MKE/ENW and the surrounding areas. Continental could have at least wandered to gate D-5 and said "The plane is delayed, we'll keep you posted."

Midwest Airlines is one of my favorite airlines to fly when I go home to NY, the crews are always friendly, and I have as number of friends now at the counter here at MCI, when one of my customers gets inconvenienced, if I can get them there on Midwest, I will.
YX ground crew and flight crews have a loyal dedication that I have only seen rarely in this business. I am surprised that they are not doing better, although due to many conversations on this board the picture becomes a little clearer to me as to reasons. However I hope for my friends at YX that things turn around.

I commute home about every week and have not gotten the cookies on the saver service since Jul when I had my interview in MKE. I fly in and out of TPA as the loads are alot better and have not had the cookies. It may have just been my bad luck. Even when I fly out of MCO there was only the 1 r/t that I got cookies. But when you serve them on every flight pretty much, you kinda get sick of them. But it is a good reminder that you are providing the "Best Care in the Air." Also remember at YX we were awarded the 2004 Best Domestic Service award. Enjoy the Best Care in the Air.

The new 717's that will be coming off the factory floor from Boeing will have the 2-3 config. These will be some of the last delivered at the end of the line. This is what the word in the halls is. This is also whats showing in the Employee info website that we have.

Every time I've flown YX from TPA/MCO/FLL to MKE, even as Saver Service, i've received the cookies. Maybe it was just bad luck or they didn't have enough for the trips. I've also been told that non-MKE originators do not have the cookies, but the turns do (all of my flights have been turns).

That's very awesome! Usually baking cookies onboard is just a first class service. Too bad they don't fly into JAX ..god all these awesome airlines (jetblue, song, midwest, ted, etc.) only fly into Orlando and Tampa down here..no fun for me.

I flew PHX-MKE, and back about a month ago, it was on "saver service" and we got two cookies on both flights. Ive flown YX a number of times some routes ive taken are: MKE-LGA, FLL, TPA, PHX, CLE, and MCO. I have never been dissapointed I sure hope they stay around for a while.
25 FutureFO: We will be around for a while. There is alot of restructuring going on as far as routes and services. We have the E140's on order and slated for 2006
26 N917ME: The 717's that are coming online for YX are going to be Signature Service 2x2 seating. As a matter of fact, the remaining 717's (8) are going to be 2x
