Air France was originally supossed launch daily A330 DTW-CDG service on May 9th, but has now postponed it until June 13th. This was confirmed by a Detroit based travel agency that recieved the information directly from AF. The flights are no longer available for booking in May per Amadeus, but are for June. Not a big deal pushing it back by a month, but still wonder the reason.

Perhaps the proper government/legal approvals are not yet in place.

That's really odd, because I was even considering purchasing a ticket for the inaugural flight from DTW-SVO via CDG. I was all excited, and I almost purchased the ticket. I wonder what would have happened had I had purchased the ticket.

You would have been given a refund

You'd have been offered a re-route or refund. Standard operating procedure for either discontinued flights, or those not taken up as planned.

There are none. US/France is open skies. They are probably just waiting for the high season to start.
