Algerie/Yemenia A330-200, Where To?

Air Algerie recently started commercial flights with their new A330-200. My question is where will Air Algerie use these birds to? I know it's already used on their ORY flights, but with the range they have available now, they can fly non-stop to further destinations. Does Air Algerie have any plans to fly to the U.S. and/or Asia with their A330-200s?

The same question I have for Yemenia's newly acquired A330-200s? Do they have plans to start any further destinations to the U.S. and more asian routes, maybe Japan?

Yemenia flies to CDG and surely LHR with their newly acquired 330s.
I think they have bought them , not especially for the range or to open new routes , but simply to replace their 310s.

Yes the AH 330s flies to ORY , and i suppose JED.In fact they replace 767s.For how long time will AH stay with these 767s ?
Air Algerie opening new routes to USA and Canada is in the air.
In fact they should have already begunn with the partnership of Khalifa and their 777s , but we know what was the fate of this joking airline.
Trafic between Algeria and USA/Canada is there , but Algerians transit thru Casablanca and fly with RAM to NYC and YUL.
It is also rumoured that AH will open in a not so distant future ALG/PEK.
Great trafic between Algeria and China.Up to now Algerians going there , transit thru Paris.
Obviously these 5 330s will not fly only between Algeria/ORY/MRS and JED.

Thanks for the information so far. The reason why I ask these questions is that Air Algerie and Yemenia now have an aircraft type with a great range and great cargo capacity, being the A330-200. It would be a waste not to take advantage of the range and cargo capacity the A330-200 offers to these airlines. I just don't have a clue which routes would be interesting enough for these airlines, because I don't know much about these airlines, their operations and their markets.

Horus, if you read this, do you have more insight on this? Many thanks in advance.

Any information is welcome Big grin

We get the Yemenia A332 in Jakarta here, so it's definitely deployed on the airline's thrice weekly Sana'a-Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta service.

Yemenia fly the A330 to Dhaka, Jakarta, Johannsburg , Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, London, Paris and Marseille. Most of the flights to Asia go through Dubai and Kuwait. The flight to London go through Aden. All flights originate in Sanaa (SAH). I will be flying IY A330-200 for the first time this week end from Dubai to Sanaa. I am pretty excited about that. I have already flown their B737-800.

As of Air Algérie, I have seen the A330s many time at Paris CDG. I think they fly them to Jeddah also. As of the routes to the Americas and Asia, they are at the planning stages.

Next flights : BRU-ZRH-CAI (LX)/ BRU-FCO-TLV (AZ)

IY A330's have been on the LHR route since December, gradually replacing the A310's. Does anyone know if AH have plans on sending their A330's to LHR?

Yemenia also flies 332s to Abu Dhabi.

Because most of Yemenia's international flights (even within the Middle East) stop over in smaller Yemeni cities, a lot of domestic travel is done on the A330s too.

And I agree with the statement that the 332s are to replace the 310s (which are pretty old). There isn't a market for new routes from Yemen right now. Definitely not to East Asia or North America, as someone asked. Loads to the major Gulf cities (DXB, AUH, BAH) are tiny.

Arsenal@LHR

Do you see regulary the 767s in LHR ?
What are the frequencies of ALG/LHR and ORN/LHR ?
Does AH operate also from Annaba , Constantine , Bejaia , Tlemcen or Batna to LHR ?

Many thanks for your answer.

I don't know if that is correct but our flight from Sanaa to Dubai via Riyan was 100% full. Only a few seats were left in Business Class. I will tell you if the loads are good or not on Sunday when I fly IY from DXB to SAH.

AH have been using the 737-800/600 on the ALG-LHR route, sometimes it is a 767 or an A310, but rarely. The only destination they fly to from LHR is Algiers.

AH is using the A332 for its capacity, not its range. Mostly to both ORY & CDG

AH doesn't have any long-haul network (never had), though they already have a fleet of 4 B767-300 for a long time.

I heard two days ago that AH will beginn ALG/PEK as early as April or May.In fact as soon as they get the 5 330s.
They can't fly to PEK directly with their 767-300s , since they are NOT 300ER.Obviously if they decide to sell them it will be quite hard.

FLYING BELGIAN

No A333 is not a plane well suited for AH.
For Paris , A332 , speaking of capacity is the right size , as they fly with them twice a day year round.During summer time it is too short in capacity , even 333 , that's why AH lease 747s.According to AH crew it's the same for MRS and JED.
I remember when they leased A333 F-OMSA , it was rarely full pax.
