There are strong rumors that VH wants to start daily service from CCS to VVI. Probably extending their CCS-LIM service. This would be with the MD83. Not very comfortable, but at least something new.
The only thing that scares me is the actual schedule with that flight arriving in LIM at about 23:30. This means the flight to VVI leaves after midnight and arrives at about 02:30 am.

Really a good question ! I didn´t think about it. But I can´t imagine. Aeropostal has kind of associated airlines almost everywhere now, but as far as I know not in Peru and in Bolivia.
And about the aircraft overnight in LIM you are also right. But I am afraid that the schedule is too inconvenient for passengers from Europe having to make a e.g. PAR-CCS-LIM-VVI arriving in the middle of the night.
A PAR-GRU-VVI is much better then.

In such case, there would be three airlines flying between Santa Cruz and Caracas under a mediocre service, not very appealing to the traveller's eye. Excluding AR for obvious reasons, neither of the remaining two would offer nonstop service both ways, neither of them would offer attractive routings both ways, and neither of them would offer a decent schedule both ways.
Still, LB's itineraries allow for connections upon arriving to VVI, and they, although nothing to write home about, offer [at least] nonstop service on the south-bound leg [the northbound goes via Bogota and arrives in the middle of the night to Caracas].
