EUJet - Still Going?

I was wondering if EU Jet was still going. There website still seems to be taking bookings.

I wonder if those who predicted its immenent downfall before the end of the year (2004) could revisit their predictions (BestWestern?) Big grin

I was one of them too  Big grin

However, this was before the cash injection as mentioned above by Pearson.

Once that cash runs out they WILL be gone, I will stake money on that definitely  Big thumbs up

EUJet basically collapsed financially in Late December, and the airport they fly from had to bale them out so they can continue flying. The loads continue to be really poor, with not one route even appraoching profitability. Problem of unknown airline flying unreliable aircraft from unknown airport.

I belive that Planestation's investors are throwing good money after bad by buying out what is a failed concept. Meanwhile the leasing company is making money from aircraft that nobody wants (f-100's)... The airport would be much better off buying FR's or flyBe's entry to the airport - they have a known network, and in Ryanair's case warmed up foreign airports with passengers looking for bargains!.

I have heard that loads are improving, albeit slowly.
The EDI flights seem to be the best domestic run for them so far, despite averages loads of about 40%

I would agree with BestWestern - Manston's owners should have bailed on EUJet, and tried to coax a more established operator to use their airport eg. FR or similiar.

i flew them to MAD in mid jan, 18 on the way out and 30 on the return. However i chatted to the crew and they said pre christmas they were running with 75% ave load. They just announced an expansion programme. Plane station who own Manston as well have re valued their shares and against this injected the necessary amount of capital to bu all of EUjet. Now tell me this is bad biz sense, because as far as i can tell if you own aircraft and pay nothing for handling and landing at your main base, but the passengers buy things like parking and food at the airport, the company will make money.

Sceptics say what you want, but EUJets loads continue to improve with upto 2000 pax a day now travelling, which makes the load factor around %60.

With the low fares and marketing EUJet were offering, the break-even l/f would be around 110% on EDI.

The load factors we see on Pprune are indeed getting bigger, but dont forget that December included the christmas period ('full' flights for a week), and loads arent everything either. Yield is just as important.

January and February load factors will be the tell tale sign for traction on loads. Compare the EuJet launch to that of Buzz.

Imagine EUJet did not exist and Aer Arran wanted to fly from DUB to UK airports. It would, I believe, be very feasible for it to initially fly an AT4 once-daily from DUB to MSE from where it could fly, as a seperate flight, to AMS, then back to MSE and, again as a seperate flight, back to DUB. This is based on traffic figures showing that MSE-DUB and MSE-AMS are performing pretty poorly for a 100-seat jet, but would be far better - read: almost always full and with good yields - for a prop-driven machine with less than 50 seats.

There aircraft seem to go tech quiet a bit, I often see the Flightline 146's subsituting there flights.

It seems as if EUJet has quietly dropped CGN from the list of bookable destinations. The CGN route was supposed to be launched in 3/05.

They tried to offer a service from a different airport, instead its backfired and loads arent exactly something to smile about. What they should have done is tried a different, more estabilished airport, although then the competition would be a lot harder.

I personally wish the airline all the best and hope their routes get better.
