I was just looking online and came cross this...

Does anyone know what they were doing there? I thought about diversion but so close to Dulles? Pilot training maybe? Aren't IDEs flight numbers for RJs like 1000-2000?

Would have loved to spot this in my old home town...

Any help would be aperciated...

Probably flying to CHO to pick up UVA basketball team. IDE does a bunch of charters for college basketball teams.

We've had some successful charter operations recently, and you are correct about the flight numbers. I was mistaken at first, thinking the 5000 series was for repos and ferry flights only.
