Hello,

I will be on a flight from SFO to HNL on a NW 757-300 in April. My question is what kind of IFE (if any) is available in first class. Is it PTV's or a flip down community screen? Also is there any chance that NW will upgrade this flight to a wide body?

Thanks,
Mark

It is a ceiling-hanging and bulkhead screen on the 757-300's-
I think the only chance of it becoming a wide-body is if they need to replace the sceduled A/C with a replacement due to a mechanical... Not very likely..

Enjoy the flight and Mahalo !!!

Yes, the screen comes down from the overhead comfort panel. The chances of a equipment change is minimal. SEA and MSP are the domestic US-HNL routes that have a DC10 on it.

When did NW reinstate IFE on this route at all? Or is HNL an exception?

We reinstated IFE on the 757 when the -300 was converted to ETOPS in the late spring of 03

Though, intra-lower 48 flights have it disabled.

Actually, the 49 states. When we were operating DTW-ANC during the holiday season, we were using the domestic 5500/5600 757's which have been deactivated since the days following 9/11.
