PIAs route network will see the following changes take place from next week valid till end of May :
LHE will see 4 weekly LHR flights (3 B743 and 1 B74M)...it used to be 3 weekly B 743s nonstop.
ISB will get 4 weekly LHR flights (1 B74M, 1 B743 and 2 B772)...it used to be 3 weekly B 743s nonstop.
KHI will only see 1 non-stop flight to LHR (B74M)
The extra weekly flights will originate in KHI using B74M
ISB-OSL will increase to 3 weekly flights A310.
CPH will have 1 weekly A 310 in the off season from ISB.
KHI-LHE-OSL-CPH will see no more flights.
The new route to IAH and ORD from Pakistan to these destinations are as follows eff. 25 Feb.
IAH goes back to once a week in the off season eff Feb 25th on Fridays :
KHI-LHE-MAN-ORD-IAH with an B 772
Pax must exit the aircraft and clear customs and immigration at the first pont of arrival in the States, so the IAH pax will have get off in ORD, clear immigration and then reboard the a/c.
PK757 LHE-LHR using B743 will operate on Tues, Thurs and Sat
PK787 KHI-LHE-LHR using B74M will operate on Wed
PK785 ISB-LHR using B743 will operate on Sat
PK785 ISB-LHR using B772 will operate on Wed and Sun
PK787 KHI-ISB-LHR using B74M will operate on Fri
PK787 KHI-LHR using B74M will operate on Sun

PIA will not route the IAH flight via ORD. I am glad they realized that doing so would effectively kill the Houston station.
They will cut to one flight a week (starting 2/16), but it will fly KHI-LHE-MAN-IAH on Wednesdays. They did have the ORD stop in the schedules for about six days, but the new routing is now available for booking everywhere.

Is it economically viable to fly such a distance once a week? I would assume the crew would dead head to another North American city instead of spending 7 nights in Houston. Then have another crew deadhead back on Thursday to bring the next aircraft back.
Lear777, no doubt if one has to go through the customs and immigration check at ORD, then re-board for IAH, they might as well connect in Europe and fly nonstop on KL,LH and the likes. And what if, as we well know, there is some passport/visa/name discrepancy in immigration and it takes a family 3 or 4 hours to clear up a problem. The aircraft is going at the set time, with or without them! The only alternative for those individuals is Amtrak!
Behramjee, would they ever consider -YYZ-ORD-YYZ- . Same crew from say MAN can make it to ORD with a stop in YYZ. And similarly -YYZ-IAH-YYZ- except one fresh crew would do that complete sector from Toronto return. Does PK have 5th freedom between Canada and the States? If not I'm sure Condi Rice will give the nod! She's pretty happy with the Paks.
