What's with the "pan am clipper connection"? I've noticed it around a few times and it greatly confuses me. Even though it is operated by Boston-Maine Airways, it's still like PAN AM!

Hi,
I was surprised too when I saw a pic of a Pan Am 727 on the forum today, I initially thought it was an old picture, so I did a search, and a photo of a 727 was taken in February 2005!
I thought Pan Am had died long ago! Has another airline just stolen the name?

Essentially, as written, PA Clipper Connection is Boston-Maine Airways, formerly only operating J-31s and at a time also 2 Casa 212s. But after Guilford, the company behind PA, had disputes with the pilots, they essentially killed PA III, and set up this PA IV, having those former J-31 pilots operating 727s as PA. Someone else might have more detailed information, though. But the conclusion is it's a big screwjob on the pilots.
