Hello to all. My question is regarding AA's meal service on their YYZ-MIA legs. I'll be flying out for March break and i'm wondering what to expect (if anything) as far as a meal's concerned!

Thanks to all who may know.

Just as I suspected! Thanks for the heads up! BTW on last year's flight From YYZ-LGA-MIA there was a small meal service on the YYZ-LGA leg (bagel w/cheese.) Has something changed since then?????

Thanks!

Why flying LAX-ORD a few month ago there was a place at the gate where you had pick up your food before entering the aircraft.

What is the reason why you have to get it before departing and the f/a's don't distribute it on-board?

Funny how they make no mention of the pricing on the website. Something tells me they are going to charge seven bucks per sandwich  Big grin

Found this on their web site http://www.aa.com/content/travelInfo...t/dining/domesticMealService.jhtml

It gives you an idea.

Meal service changed earlier this month. Bagel service on LGA-YYZ service -- that must be a long time ago.

For YYZ-MIA, they will be selling $3 snack boxes... sandwiches ($5) only available to transcon and Hawaiian flights.

Eat before you fly...

I just read the AA link QB737 pasted above and I am shocked. No complimentary meals for LAX-JFK flights even? They don't even give you the option to buy a hot meal. Just sandwich wraps? (correct me if i'm wrong)

Just for the sake of comparison, Jetstar Asia gives pax the choice of purchasing a full hot meal service on its Singapore-Hong kong and Taipei flights (3.5 to 4 hours) They cost US$5 for a full asian or western meal tray with appetiser, main course and dessert. Perhaps AA should consider that too?

Also, I don't believe low fares have to mean no frills. I recently flew SIN-BKK on SQ for the princely sum of US$90 RETURN in Y. For the 1h50min flight (772 on the way there 744 on the way back) there was a full meal service with menus and entrees like shrimp salad, main course was pan-fried fish fillet with tomato-basil sauce, (there was a choice of Asian fried noodles with chicken too) Opera Cake with vanilla sauce for dessert, IFE with AVOD and a full bar service that had me having 3 Singapore Slings, 2 glasses of wine and soft drinks, plus free newspapers and magazines from all over the world. I believe I got my US$90 worth, yes!

Southwest (at least in 2002) offered free drinks and snacks in Y. If a supposedly LCC like WN does this, what's the incentive for me to take AA or any main service carrier for US domestic?

Yes of course. But you can't compare the beauty and the beast...
