While breowing thru the database i noticed that Cargolux's 744Fs have both RR and i belive GE engines. Does anyone know why. It seems that all of them came directly from boeing or are some bought while other leased.

Cargolux have 13 744Fs. The first five were delivered with (GE) CF6-80s. All were ordered directly from Boeing bar LX-ICV which is a -428 and was presumably originally destined for Air France.

After the first five CV switched to RR RB211-524s. I have no idea why but I would love to know.

(They have no PW-powered aircraft.)

thats weird. Still no explanation. One might think that they would stick to one engine not all 3
