since my mum is a KLM employee we receive ''de wolken ridder'' , the montly KLM magazine.
this time they have a view on the A330, wich will arive in August this year, and they visited toulouse. they had some interesting points
-they mentioned that the configuration will be 3-3 in business, and 2-4-2 in economy
- 2nd A330 order, they mentioned that the plan is to fly well over the 10 A330's for medium haul, and A350 isn't likely to arive instead of A330 since they see it more like and Long haul plane instead of a medium haul plane like the A330
-crew not to positif about it, as they are affraid that they will loose crew rest area and for most of them (since a lot are young) never flew anything else than boeing or McDouglas.
-first trained pilots very happy with the A330...
- 767 pilots complain about the high payments the A330 pilots will get
I find this really hard to believe. How do you expect the F/As to reach the passangers in the prisoner seats? It's not the same as 3 economy seats next to the window, as these will be much wider (and the F/As need to serve business class passangers in a bit more active way; not just passing a tray). I can't imagine why anyone will choose the 3-3 config over 2-2-2. You might get slightly wider seats (since you'll only need one aisle instead of two), but the 2-2-2 is pretty confortable anyway (and the dutch are not as large as Americans! ). And I can't imagine any business class passangers paying lots of money to get stuck in such a prisoner seat, which is infinitely worse than the middle seat of a 2-3-2 config.

MD80Nut I have to agree, the new scheme took some time to get used to but once you've seen it in real life it is one of the nicest ones out there. Though I think the A330 would still have looked sharp in the old colours:

Where did you get this info MauriceB??? I read the article in "wolkenridder" and nowhere did they mention a 3-3 conf in C-class. KLM cabin crew magazine Cabin Ready jan 2005 has the layout and says the config will be 30 c-class & 221 economy. The seats will be 2-2-2 in bizz and 2-4-2 in economy. All seats will have the new on demand video system.
