OK, realizing this topic has most likely already been discussed in some of the many other A380 threads, I had been curious over the past few days:

What if the A380 had to make an emergency landing at some airport somewhere , and being that this airport was most likely one of the thousands of airports around the world that can not simply handle a landing by the behometh, what would happen? It could be due to runway length, runway being unable to handle the weight of the plane, etc...

Also, being of reasonable intelligence, I would fathom a guess that in an emergency, the skilled pilot will try and land the plane at any airport, but then what? there can be dozens of variables as a result of this question, any thoughts? In other worlds, its not like landing a 737/757/767 due to an emergency, where many airports are equipted to handle these types of planes

If it can handle a 747 then it can take an A380. The only issue is taxiways and ground handling equipment.

As a matter of fact the A380 is designed to need a shorter Runway then the 747-400.

If it can not handle the aircraft for normal operations it doesn't mean that it can not do an emergency landing there.

Another interesting point is that the A380 will have a tighter turning radius than the 777, 747 and A340.
