Hi all

Just heard on HF was 'ABD50P' talking to on 6532 KHz.

Flytecomm says type B744 routing WSSS (Singapore) to PHNL (Honolulu) with 2hrs 40 mins flight time remaining, ETA PHNL 0607.

The selcal given doesn't suggest anything useless except an (ex) Air France B744, but unlikely to be that as it was flying a Paris-Los Angeles-Papeete on 25th as normal.

Position was OV/27N170E 1255z F390 EO/??N180LONG 1353 NP/175W. Cleared to climb to F410.

Can anyone at Honolulu go and see what it is please!!?  Big thumbs up

Cheers,

I have seen the Iberia coloured 744 doing maintenance back in Singapore (After it was delivered to Iberia). maybe they have simply done work on it, and are flying it to South America to reenter service from there?

Hi mate,

Reg confirmed as TF-AMI is HNL rare birds thread so it's not one of the current IBE ones. As it's ex Singapore I would imagine it's an ex SIA B744!

Cheers,

My guesses are ... 1) Air Atlanta picked up a 744 from SQ, or; 2) it was there for heavy maintenance.

I should have taken a drive around the ramp at work today to see where the a/c was parked and what it looked like, but didn't have time. As I said in the HNL rare birds thread, I wonder why it is taking the long way around? Could it possibly be headed for the US mainland for painting/outfitting for Air Atlanta?

I read on the board at Customs that it is only here for refueling. I wonder if it will also overnight?
