Delta - CVG, JFK

AFAIK, CVG was only served via JFK, so it was only a one-stop service.

Yeah, you were right, flight 131, operated 12456, lasted from summer 1993 until summer 1994. Other than that it was mostly flt 77 via JFK.

Delta did indeed serve CVG from Munich. However, I do not recall TWA ever serving Boston from Munich. Service was to JFK when direct with same equipment. When they used the 727s to feed Paris flights, its possible that the flight number continued to BOS, but I don't think that counts  Smile

Anyhow, I remember Canada 3000 operating Halifax and Calgary from Munich before they went out of business. Also, Lauda operated a Miami service for years codesharing with Lufthansa before stopping it in 2002 (?). Lufthansa now operates to Miami with its own aircraft (seasonally). I believe that Air Seychelles operated briefly into Munich, I recall seeing Air Lanka (although that may have been charter) and Air Mauritius had operated into Munich for more than a decade before stopping last year (although they do still code share on a Condor operated flight). If you throw in cargo, they had Singapore Cargo 747-400F service to Singapore via Dubai and to JFK, service since moved to Brussels.

oh yes TWA operated the B762 into the new MUC airport to JFK.

TWA operated BOS via GVA with a Tristar in the 80s.

And of course the Lauda flight to MIA coming from VIE, they used in the last year of the operating of the flight sometimes a A330 of Austrian Airlines and also machines from Lauda Italy.

I think the Air Seychelles service was just for one season, flight was moved from FRA and moved back after axing the flight to MUC.

Thank you for your comments.

I have forgotten the flights to the domenation Republic and Cuba operated by Britannia Germany. They offered you a very cheap vacation to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana... they offered sometimes for 900 german marks a 2 week all including vacation.

Lufthansa had A340 service to Johannesburg, Singapore and Osaka.

Lauda also flew to Los Angeles, coming in from Vienna, but that stopped a long time before the MIA flight.

Those are all I can think of in addition to the above-mentioned.

However, I never knew about that GA flight. When was that? Which equipment, which routing?

Oh, and then, there is at least this "longhaul equipment": at the end of the 90s Swissair operated its ZRH-MUC morning flight with an MD-11. That was cool...

the GA service was at the last days of Munich Riem airport. Equipment was I think on MD11 but I am not 100 percent sure about, the destination was DPS or Jakarta....

The LAX flight was not started simultan to the MIA service and given up 1 year later?

For DL, CVG will not return, as CVG is only a third-rank European gateway for DL after ATL and JFK. DL back to JFK, who knows. Ever since DL cut the route there were rumors to bring it back, but seeing as DL couldn't fill a second daily flight to ATL last summer, it is doubtful.
As for LH, should FRA encounter more traffic problems ( like no new runway being built), LH might open up some of the dropped MUC routes again to relieve FRA.

LH is operating more from MUC than ever, most mentioned citys are operated with LH metal or code-share from MUC.

There was a season or two when LTU used to fly direct from MUC to LAX using MD11 or A330 in addition to the twice weekly DUS-LAX.
